GoFundMe Set Up for Danny Ferretti's Medical Expenses

LOS ANGELES — A GoFundMe campaign has been set up for Fangear founder Danny Ferretti, who requires extensive lung surgery.

"Two years ago, Danny went into septic shock as a result of a severe pneumonia infection. He was placed on a ventilator and feeding tube, and his survival odds were slim at best," the campaign page reads. "But he fought back and recovered; however, over the past five months, his condition has deteriorated to the point where only a lobectomy or complete transplant will help. The costs of these procedures are astronomical, and while a good part of that cost is covered, there are still a wide range of expenses that are not. His illness has not just impacted his personal life, but it has also put his creative work and his passion for helping the creative community to a sudden stop. Not being able to work has been incredibly hard on him and his family, and while he would never ask, I know he could use your support."

The campaign, organized by Adam Mareno, president of Fangear parent company GFE Model Services, has set a goal of $14,000.

"If you know Danny, you know he has always been there to help with creative ideas, web design, calendar creation, and branded merchandise," the campaign page continues. "But mostly he has been a friend and ally to everyone he has worked with over the years. His work ethic is incredibly unmatched, and he has always been an unstoppable force in the creative community — until now. Lung disease and kidney issues have taken their toll, and now extensive surgery and rehab are waiting.

"If you’re able to help in any way, whether by donating or simply sharing this message, please do. Every little bit helps ease the burden."
